Zack Greer Named To 2008 NCAA All-Tournament Team

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Duke senior attackman Zack Greer has been named to the 2008 NCAA All-Tournament Team, as announced on Monday afternoon at the NCAA Championship game in Foxborough, Mass.

Greer, a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, led the Blue Devils with four total points on one goal and three assists in Duke's 10-9 semifinal loss to Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon. For the tournament, Greer posted 17 points on nine goals and eight assists.

The all-tournament selection is the second for Greer, who also was named to the squad following the 2007 event. He becomes the third two-time NCAA All-Tournament pick in Duke history joining Matt Danowski (2005 & 2007) and Nick O'Hara (2005 & 2007). In 11 career NCAA Tournament games, Greer registered 52 points on 35 goals and 17 assists. He holds school records for most NCAA Tournament goals in a game (7 vs. North Carolina, 2007), tournament (16 in 2007) and career (35).

Syracuse's Mike Leveille, who led the Orangemen to the national title on Monday in a 13-10 victory over Johns Hopkins, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Others named to the all-tournament team were Paul Rabil (Johns Hopkins), Dan Hardy (Syracuse), Dan Glading (Virginia), Kevin Huntley (Johns Hopkins), Michael Evans (Johns Hopkins), Michael Gvozden (Johns Hopkins), Danny Brennan (Syracuse) and Sid Smith (Syracuse).
