DURHAM, N.C. – Three Duke women’s lacrosse players were named 2009 Preseason All-America by Womenslax.com, the organization announced Thursday.
Seniors Caroline Cryer and Carolyn Davis and sophomore Emma Hamm were tabbed to the 20-player list, as Duke was one of three programs – along with top-ranked Northwestern and Syracuse – with three selections on the squad. The list includes players from 13 schools, with Virginia receiving two picks and Notre Dame, Boston University, Penn, North Carolina, Towson, Maryland, Princeton, Denver, and Georgetown seeing one player each.
The third-ranked Blue Devils will open the 2009 season on Feb. 13, traveling to Denver, Colo., to face the University of Denver on Friday, followed by California that Sunday. The Cal game will be played in Denver as well.
