2009 Preseason ECAC Lacrosse League Poll Announced

CAPE COD, Mass. — In a vote by league coaches, the Georgetown Hoyas have been chosen as the favorites to capture the 2009 ECAC Lacrosse League title. The Hoyas have been picked first by league coaches for ten straight years and have won the title six times.
The Hoyas tallied 47 possible points including five first place votes. Loyola, the defending ECAC Lacrosse League champion, garnered 43 points and the remaining three first place votes and was tabbed to finish second. Penn State and Rutgers tied for third in the poll with 33 points to round out the top half of the poll.
The University of Massachusetts received 29 points and was picked to finish fifth, while Fairfield was tabbed for sixth place. Hobart and St. John's rounded out the bottom quarter of the poll.
