Vermont Men's Lacrosse Program Announces Catamount Classic For a Cure
 
     
  BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont men's lacrosse program has organized an eight-team tournament for the fall of 2008 to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The "Catamount Classic For a Cure" is set for Sunday, October 12 at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Mass. Brown, Bryant, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Massachusetts, Fairfield, Providence and Vermont will all compete in the tournament with each squad playing three scrimmages.

Each team will pay an entry fee and there will be a $10 admission fee for spectators. All proceeds from the event will go to testicular cancer research and education through the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Each contest will be a 50-minute game with 25 minute running halves. Games will start at 11am. Thayer Academy has three turf fields so as many as three games will be played at a time.
